Fishin' and long captions.

5th graders and fishing buddies, Kirk Snyder (left) and Aaron Stewart (right), ride their bikes to Brenke Fish Ladder at least once a week when the weather is nice, and "everyday" during the summer, according to Stewart. They spend their time sharing stories of past fishes caught while also sharing tricks of the trade with each other to pass the time while waiting for a fish to bite.

During a day off of school, 5th grader Aaron Stewart, 11, leans over the railing as he casts his line into Grand River Ave. at Brenke Fish Ladder Park in Old Town Lansing, MI. "We caught a pretty big fish earlier today," says Stewart, "but we had to let it go 'cuz my mom said no more fish. Not until we eat the last one we caught."

Stewart grabs a worm from the tackle box before hooking it. Stewart and Snyder collect the worms themselves before fishing instead of buying them at the local bait shop.
